Today for home games the shirt worn is red with a white stripe running down the back and the words “The Red Devils” is patched on an image on the bottom left of the shirt. The “devil” on the clubs symbols comes from the nickname of the club “The Red Devils” which was adopted in the 1960 by Matt Busby, the then manager of Manchester United after he heard from a local rugby club in reference to the red shirts of the players.
